Entertainment bigwig 21st Century Fox recently formed a gaming, virtual reality and theme park division known as FoxNext. FoxNext has now wasted no time and has acquired game developers Aftershock, located in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Aftershock is said to be developing a mobile game based on James Cameron's hit movie Avatar which is set to be a multiplayer strategy game. Apart from that, Aftershock is also working on two other titles which are yet to be announced.

FoxNext themselves have released several successful mobile games based on popular Fox TV series such as 'The Simpsons Tapped Out', 'Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff' and 'Futurama: Game of Drones'.

The buyout by FoxNext comes at an opportune time, as Aftershock has actually been working closely with the company all these while to develop the Avatar Mobile Game. Right now, no release date has been confirmed, but it's great to know that the game is in the works and that Avatar fans have something to look forward to.
