China's Tencent Has Re-branded 'Honor of Kings' for the International Market

Honor of Kings was the phenomenal game in China that profited its creator, Tencent so much that they began to launch the game in other parts of the world. At first, it was only extended to a few other countries under the name 'Strike of Kings' for a Beta testing phase but the game has now passed Beta testing phase and is on its way to hit a bigger market.

Honor of Kings is now re-branded as Arena of Valor for the international market, but it features much of the same gameplay. Players will be able to engage in 5 vs 5 multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) with a team of characters of their own choosing.

Arena of Valor is markedly different from its Chinese counterpart Honor of Kings and this is evident in the line up of characters and game design. While Honor of Kings had many characters based on Chinese historical figures, myths and legends, Arena of Valor features characters of a more Western slant. Fairies, centaurs and even Batman are part of the line up of heroes available to play.

Arena of Valor will be officially released in Europe on August 10th, with more announcements expected soon for releases in the rest of the world.
