Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind To Get A TV Series?

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is one of those rare films that's not your typical love story of an average guy who meets the girl next door, or a love story about super attractive people who's just too perfect.

No, at its core, Eternal Sunshine is as realistic as it gets: it's a story about breakups and second chances, about how two different personalities can both fall deeply in and out of love, and the heartbreak that comes with it.

The film, released in 2004, starred Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet and received critical acclaim by critics for its originality, non-linear storytelling, compelling characters and the use of science fiction and psychology elements. The film also won an Academy Award for best original screenplay by Charlie Kaufman.

And now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, a TV series reboot of the film is currently in its early development. Unfortunately, Charlie Kaufman will not be returning to pen the script, instead, the main writing duty will be handled by Zev Borow (ChuckForever).

So what do you make of this? Is Hollywood truly running out of original ideas? Do you want to see a film with a strong cult following be translated into a TV series, nevermind a reboot? Or are you looking forward on how this concept could be greatly expanded into a TV series?
