How to Cut A Cake and Preserve It Longer

If you're keeping leftover pieces of cakes in the refrigerator, you may come across one problem. Cakes tend to dry out in the refrigerator, as the moist centre is exposed to the cold air. This is because cold air is very dry, causing any moisture in the cake to evaporate.

In the end, you get a cake that's dry and crumbly in the middle. Here's a simple method to slice cakes where you don't expose any part of the cake's inner parts to the air.

This method was published in the famous scientific journal, Nature, in 1906.
