Marie Kondo: Japanese Organizing Genius Shows You How to De-Clutter Your Life

Meet Marie Kondo, an organizing consultant and author who is out there to show you how you can de-clutter your life and live in a more organized manner. One of her books have become very well received in the English speaking world, and it's called 'The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up".

Kondo's philosophies for organizing are very unique, and she tours the world giving lessons and lectures about it. She also has a special talent for folding just about any piece of clothing. You can watch her in action here:

Kondo's teachings are called the KonMari method, and she begins by encouraging everyone to gather up their things according to various categories, and only keep those that make them happy or 'tokumeki' (spark joy). Her method is so different from many other homemaking experts as she doesn't rely on a set of steps. Instead, she relies of her 'Tokumeki' philosophy, which is to encourage people to create spaces that give them joy.

Here she is sharing her philosophies on the Ellen Show:

We can clearly see that the KonMari method encourages one to be very in touch with their emotions when organizing, rather than relying strictly on rules and regulations. This is exactly what makes her so popular. Why not give the KonMari method a try today?
