Starcraft 2 will offer its base game for free

After years of 50% off sales on anniversaries, Starcraft 2 will finally offer Wings of Liberty for free on November 14, 2017.

This follows a logical step forward, as previously, Starcraft 2 could be 'demoed' for free. The demo version came with multiplayer, and even offered access to the arcade.

What players will get free are the Wings of Liberty campaign, Unranked, Ranked, Versus AI, Co-op multiplayer (up to lv 5) and the arcade.

This will get more players to play the game, and now you can have your friends join you in battle, without needing to pay a cent.

We don't see this affecting the ESports scene much, as Starcraft Remastered still remains as the game that requires more skills and have a bigger presence in Esports.

You can get more info on the upcoming change here.
