Super Mario Run Has Been Downloaded More Than 150 Million Times!

Nintendo announced in a recent shareholders' meeting that their mobile game Super Mario Run has surpassed 150 million downloads in just seven months after its original launch. However, only about 10% of those who downloaded paid to unlock the game, as opposed to 90% who decided to play it for free.

This has caused Nintendo to re-examine their in-game payment systems. In a recent speech, Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima stated that Nintendo is considering a more versatile payment system for their games which will include more payment elements and systems that will cover more players.

Nintendo is planning to implement the lessons they've learnt from Super Mario Run to the upcoming Animal Crossing mobile game soon to be released this year. Nintendo remains optimistic about Super Mario Run as the number of paying customers are on the rise.

Super Mario is an auto running and side scrolling game which is reminiscent of classic Mario games where you collect gold coins and avoid mushrooms by tapping on your screen.
